? Đề bài
The charts below show the percentage of time younger and older people spend on various Internet activities in their free time.
? Sample band 8.5:
INTRODUCTION
The pie charts compare how people of two different age groups spend their spare time on the Internet. Overall, while the younger cohort spend the majority of their free time online on entertainment, it is commercial transactions and research that occupy most of the senior group’s time on the Internet.
BODY 1
The 18–26 age group spend nearly two-thirds of their time online on leisure activities, including social networking, streaming music or films, and gaming. The first two activities are the most popular among them, accounting for approximately a quarter and one-fifth of the total amount. Gaming is ranked in fourth place, slightly behind conducting research which stands at exactly 20%. The online activities least preferred among people of this age bracket are making online purchases and reservations, which together made up 17%, with the latter taking up only 5%, the lowest figure across all categories.
BODY 2
Such a preference pattern is, however, reversed in the group of people aged 60 to 70. Entertainment only constitutes less than one-third of their online time, with playing games and going on social networks making up a mere 6% and 8%, significantly lower than those seen in the younger age group. On the other hand, senior citizens tend to enjoy making bookings and doing research via the Internet more than their young counterparts. These activities are also their favourite, comprising 29% and 26% of their free time online respectively. Similarly, online shopping is more popular, albeit only slightly, among the old (at 14% compared to 12%).
