The charts illustrate the proportion of males and females in a certain country who engaged in various household chores, along with the average duration they dedicated to each activity.
Overall, cooking and cleaning were the two most common domestic tasks for both genders, and these were also the activities to which they allocated the greatest amount of time.
In detail, slightly over 80% of women participated in cooking, which was considerably higher than the figure for men, at around 60%. A similar pattern can be observed for cleaning, with approximately 60% of women performing this task compared to about 40% of men. By contrast, a marginally greater proportion of men took care of pets (just above 20%), whereas the percentage of men undertaking house repairs (around 18%) was roughly twice as high as that of women.
When it comes to the time spent, women devoted more than 80 minutes per day to cooking and nearly 70 minutes to cleaning. Men, meanwhile, spent slightly less time on both tasks, averaging 60 minutes for cooking and about 45 minutes for cleaning. Notably, both genders dedicated an equal amount of time to pet care, but men spent considerably more time on house repairs, at an average of just under 20 minutes daily.
